GPE Electrical & Communications Contractor was formed in Albury on 1 July 1988 and expanded into the Wagga Wagga region with an office and workshop in 2001. It is a family-owned brand, and all branches are locally operated and owned. GPE is a pre-qualified contractor for both NSW RMS and VIC Roads for installation, maintenance and 24-hour service of roadway lighting, traffic signals and intelligent traffic systems. It works with nationwide multi-site business and corporate customers, and its services are spread across commercial and industrial customers. GPE performs all types of electrical work from large major projects down to the smallest of installations and all types of maintenance work, and it works on all building types: industrial, commercial, residential and rural. High voltage services include consultancy, design, supply, maintenance and construction of overhead and underground power, electrical design, high voltage maintenance and fauna crossings.
Low voltage services include residential, commercial, industrial and rural mains and metering installation, thermal imaging, test and tagging, exit and emergency lighting, power factor correction, 24-hour emergency call out, and solar small or large installations. Data communications services include supply, installation, termination and testing of fibre, copper and ethernet, and GPE is an accredited installer. Commercial services include digital signage installations, new electrical and plumbing installation work, general maintenance and repair, preventative and maintenance checks, fitout and rebranding projects, and energy-efficiency audits. Road services include traffic lights, street lighting, road loops, vehicle counters and intelligent traffic systems, along with street lighting consulting and provision of electrical and engineering service.
